Darío Aguilar
Darío Aguilar was born on April 14th, 1976, in Pilar (Buenos Aires).
He studied painting in the National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón (Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón) and in the National University of The Arts (Universidad Nacional de las Artes - UNA). He attended the seminars of Ignacio Gerry and Juan Manuel Díaz Puerta, and also attended the artwork analysis of Diana Aisenberg and Tulio de Sagastizábal.
He was part of collective art exhibitions, such as Becarios (Grantees), National Museum of Fine Arts (Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes) in 2005; Proyectos, Devenires y Otras Utopías (Projects, Future and Other Utopias), National Fund of The Arts (Fondo Nacional de las Artes) in 2011 and Latitudes (Latitudes), Southern Border Foundation (Fundación Frontera Sur), Medellín, Colombia in 2012. In 2017 he was selected by Premio UADE a las Artes Visuales 2017, Fundación UADE (UADE Award of Visual Arts 2017 - UADE Foundation). He made individual art exhibitions, which include En El Desierto (In The Desert), Edenor Space (EspacioEdenor) in 2003, Extensionismo. Apuntes (Extensionismo. Notes), French Alliance of Buenos Aires (Alianza Francesa de Buenos Aires) in 2011, Museo Imaginario de Extensionismo (Imaginary Museum of Extensionismo), Planner Office (Oficina Proyectista) in 2011, Días de Silencio (Days of Silence), Red Space (Espacio Rojo), Córdoba in 2015, Obras Náufragas (Castaway Artworks), Fundación Blogarte.org (Blogarte.org Foundation), in 2015 and Fantasía de Suspensión (Mar Polar) (Suspension Fantasy) (Polar Sea), Cultural Centre General San Martín (Centro Cultural General San Martín), in 2016.
He published the book called Extensionismo. Ciencia Informal (Extensionismo. Informal Science), LVL Editions, in 2012, presented in the National Library of the Argentinean Republic (Biblioteca Nacional de la República Argentina) the following year.
He received scholarships in Argentina (Residency Program for artists, FNA-CONTI, 2015; Artwork Analysis Program for young artists, National Museum of Fine Arts, 2005 and Training scholarship for artists, National Ministry of Education, 2001) and in other countries (Scholarship Program in Residency, Karrvaz Foundation, Spain, 2007).
He coordinates painting workshops since 1998.
He lives and works in the city of Buenos Aires.
